Many people say level 16 is the most difficult BrickBreaker level, but I think this level is even harder! Of course, it can still be beaten.
I like to start the ball one click to the right. When the ball bounces off the lowest row of unbreakable bricks, hit a slighly angled shot off the right edge of your paddle. The ball should deflect off the right wall and redirect through the small gap into the middle of the level.
Sometimes the ball will bounce around and up to the top of the board through one of the higher gaps. But often, the ball will bounce back down to the bottom of the board through either the left or right gap. You need to watch the ball carefully and be ready to move quickly to intercept the ball depending on which gap it goes through.
If the ball does fall back down to your paddle, first get it under control. Then there are two ways to get it back to the top of the level. The first it to ricochet the ball off the right or left walls and back through one of the openings, like I described above for the starting move. The other approach is to maneuver your paddle so it’s touching the right wall, then hit a slightly angled shot off the left side of your paddle that goes straight up through the gap. Of course, the same idea applies if you are touching the left wall — just hit a slightly angled shot off the right side of your paddle.
There are no capsules on this level.
I get 2,0000, 0 0 0 0 0000000000 lives i saved

I think I have this level figured out. All of Pierre’s advice works as described, but I like to work the ball to the left and try to get a near vertical bounce moving ever so slightly right with a slow dribble (walking the dog) paddle movement. Once you get near the gap, if you are lucky, the ball will go through in a near vertical flight and continue on it’s way until it similarly pops out the next level gap to the right. Once the ball is out there, about 80% of the time it will bounce to the upper levels and take out the two bricks with no more paddle work required. If the ball does come back to you, be patient. Once the bricks have come all the way down it is easier to shoot the gap with a sharp angled bounce. The hard part then is keeping the ball under control if it slips under the lowest level where you will need to play steady and walk it back to the left or right areas where you have more room to work. The key is not to panic. Remain calm and focus on getting that ball out from under the lowest level of bricks then through the gap. Using this approach, I get by this level most of the time with out loosing any lives, and on a bad day, I lose 2-3 lives tops.
This is true that after you made the 34 levels twice the ball travels slowly and steady. Buuuuttttt ! when you reach 41 rop (round trip equals to 34 levels) the ball acts like if you were starting a new game. And from RT36 or 37 the game is getting trickier I mean the ball goes right trough the metal bricks, Eg. you expected the ball to bounce a certain way but it goes between the first brick and the frame of the screen, or even trough a row of bricks. Twice i got framed by the game. the first time for no reason the phone just reboot without any reason. On the second time I was trapped at level 31 and I saw my life score went from 136 to a 78. I assure you It brought me to a near depression. Finally It was a matter of time before I went down to ZERO. Now I’m on the same game for nearly 15 days with a score of 701,600 and 279 lives in bank. Buuuuttttt ! again The phone ask me If I wanted to reboot now or later. I know that my game will end abruptly and put my into a real depression unless someone tells me how to save the game or backup the games directory with levels, lives and score properly saved so I can reboot and start the game where I was before with score lives and levels intact. Is there a way? I really love this little game and it comes easier as the score goes up.
I know that some of you will not believe the score I’m at, but if you show me how to print the scren on a BB 9860 I’ll be pleased to share my passion
Just lost 20 lives on that *&?*%* !! level grrrrrr … it is absolutely the hardest level of the game. If you miss your chance at the beginning, you’re dead meat !!!
I think this level, like a few others, has a ‘sweet spot’ for the initial ball launch. I think Pierre’s description is right, but I tend to launch left and just catch the very end of the underside of the bottom row. This sends the ball to the left wall. The tendency then is always to jam the paddle up against the wall to ensure you hit it. With practice, I find leaving the paddle just shy of the wall and catching the ball with the left corner of the paddle makes for a quick richochet off the wall and then it goes up through the gap between the bricks. More often than not, I’ve then seen the ball then hit both red bricks and finish the level with no more paddle work required, and one wonders what all the fuss is about. Of course, there is quite a high risk of dropping the ball after the initial richochet, so maybe not one to do when you’re down to 2 or 3 lives. If you don’t get it right and the board indexes down, the angles change and it will no longer work. Once the board is fully down, this can be a beast of a level – easily as bad as 16.
Another chickenshit level based almost entirely on luck. It’s close to impossible to get the ball through the opening. If you do, 99% of the time it comes out the other side. If it actually makes it up into the upper reaches, 75% chance it will come out again without striking either brick.
Once the ball starts to move fast and the bricks drop, that’s it, I’m dead.
What is the largest number of “lives” you’ve seen…..?
Hi Tim good question…it’s not something I’ve been looking out for. But I had a peek at the unofficial leaderboard and the largest number of lives is 2,158 by a player named Kevin. Wow!
I am currently at 1.2 million points with 502 extra lives. Unfortunately, about 2 levels ago my paddle started sticking as I went across the screen. At that time I had over 520 extra lives and was just over 1.1 million. I had a previous game where I got to about 600,000 points and 200 extra lives when the paddle began sticking and by the time I got to almost 800,000 points I had no extra lives left. I quit playing until I had to take my battery out and I realized the paddle eas back to normal. That’s when I started this game. The only problem with rebooting the machine is you lose the game you re currently playing and it goes back to zero.
‘Is there any way you can save the game you are playing, reboot the phone by taking the battery out and still have the game saved?
Hi Lou,
There’s no way I’ve ever heard of to save your game. As someone pointed out to me once, getting a big high score is more about keeping your phone alive than how good you are at BrickBreaker.
If you’d like, take a picture of your game in progress and email it to me. I will post it on my unofficial leaderboard:

Cheers,
Pierre
this level is the hardest when you play it for the second time because tha ball is toooooooo bouncy and rather impossible to control. once you get through the second round, everything shall be fine !
Exactly!
