BrickBreaker Level 1

BrickBreaker Level 1 Diagram

Try launching the ball one click to the left, which should clear out one of the low-hanging bricks from the bottom row and give you some breathing room. As the ball comes back, hit it with the left side of your paddle to send it up the left well.

Stay conservative. Strike the ball in the center of your paddle whenever possible, and methodically destroy all the bricks.

A Laser is very helpful on this level, and in fact all the early levels. If you grab one, use it to destroy all the bricks, starting with the lowest-hanging ones. Don’t bother grabbing other capsules unless you come across a Life. Remember to fire your Laser only when the ball is rising, so you don’t lose a life being over-eager firing bullets.

I usually launch the ball 45 degrees to the right, bounce off the wall, a couple bricks and hit the upper right capsule. If it’s not a life, restart the game…no reason to leave level 1 without 4, or ideally 5 lives! I usually try to grab most capsules (except FLIP!!) to get the extra points, though if you’re playing for levels vs score, there is additional strategy!

Hi Corey,
Thanks for the comment. Yes that starting position works too. I usually just play on, whichever capsule happens to come first. There are many opportunities to get Life capsules as the game goes on. One comment about the points — if you’re following my game strategy then you will gain both levels AND score by playing conservatively.

This is a very, very, good guide. Very well written with thoughtful insight and research. This weekend my family & I were spending holyday time together and most of us had this game on our phone. We all sort of started to get into it and it sort of became a little competition to see who could get the highest score before we all have to move out of Chicago. We still have 4 more days together but so far I have the highest score and I’m the only to pass all 34 levels thanks to this guide. Hope they don’t Google for help because if they do this guide will totally help them beat me. Right now I have all the bragging rights. I finally beat my older cousin at something. I’m impressing my other hot cousin with some tips. And I’m encouraging people to start betting a couple of bucks on who gets the heights score. This guide is making some very fun memories for me. Thanks from the bottom of my Heart!

Awesome, I hope you are the first to get through 34 levels twice and then you will really have a big score to show them!
